NRA BASIC PISTOL COURSE

Location: The Compound Gun Repair Shop & Range, 25414 South State Street, Crete Illinois 60417

 

The basic pistol course teaches the basic fundamental to safely handle a handgun.  The student will begin learning the nomenclature, loading and clearing the handgun.  The class will progress to basic handgun grip and shooting stances.  As the skills improve with the shooter, they are then challenged with drills and scenarios to test their skills.  The course will conclude with a 36 round handgun qualification.  (NOTE:  This is course is also the PHASE I training segment for the ‘Illinois Concealed Carry Permit” training).  This is the first 8 hours of the required 16 hours to qualify for the IL CCW permit.

 

 

EQUIPMENT NEEDED:
1. Handgun
2. 200 rounds of ammunition
3. Minimum two magazines or one speed loaders
4. Eye and ear protection
5. Clothing suitable for outdoor activity
6. BAG LUNCH – MANDATORY
7. Strong side hip holster
8. Outside garment (shirt or jacket to cover weapon)
